Trail Challenge 2024
Set a Goal and Hit the Trail!
Join the Metroparks Trail Challenge! Sign up, set a goal and hit the trails for your health and well-being, while making friends and memories along the way. Everyone enrolled in the Trail Challenge is invited to participate in a Facebook group to share photos, experiences and words of encouragement to others. As always, ALL miles count toward your goal, regardless of where you choose to recreate – miles in a Metropark, in your neighborhood, a City Park, on vacation or anywhere outdoors that you are purposefully accumulating miles.
Trail Challengers Receive:
• Eco-friendly stainless steel water bottle
• Metroparks Toledo Trail Challenge sticker
• Opportunity to earn hiking, biking, park stickers, and invitations to earn special stickers
• Entry into private Trail Challenge Facebook group
• Special coupon offers to shop at Ridge & River!
• Tracking form
Get Outside Yourself!
• Registration Fee: $20 (Includes new stainless steel water bottle. Register for Ticket #4026.)
• OR RENEW your challenge registration for only $5. (Stickers only. Renewed registrants will not receive another stainless steel water bottle. Register for Ticket #4027.)

How to earn stickers:
• Hiking, walking, running 100 miles: One sticker awarded per 100 miles.
• Biking (road and paved trails or mountain) 100 miles: One sticker awarded per 100 miles.
• Park stickers: Hike every trail at a park and receive a sticker for that park. 19 Metroparks.
• Paddling: Available to those with their own canoe, kayak, or stand up paddleboard. Can also rent a kayak or attend a Metroparks *program.
• Tree Climbing: Attend a tree climbing *program.
• Archery: Available to those with their own archery equipment. Participants can also rent archery equipment or attend a Metroparks *program.
• Special stickers: Be on the lookout for special stickers available for a limited time!
*Please bring your Trail Challenge water bottle to the rentals or Metroparks program to receive your sticker!
All other stickers will be available at the Manor House front desk during regular business hours.

Trail Challenge 2024, RENEW REGISTRATION
THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO RENEW THEIR TRAIL CHALLENGE REGISTRATION ONLY.
STICKERS ONLY. If you register for this section, you will NOT receive a new stainless steel water bottle. If you want a new Trail Challenge bottle, please register for Ticket #4026. The water bottles are the same as last year.

Outdoor Expo
Metroparks Toledo hosts the biggest annual event of the year at Side Cut Metropark. Metroparks is for everyone and Outdoor Expo invites the community to try tree climbing, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, Kids Zone and much more. Metroparks outdoor skills experts will be on hand to guide you as you discover your next outdoor passion--regardless of ability.
This is an inclusive event and staff are trained and ready to make accommodations. A low sensory zone will be available at the Lamb Center. Adaptive equipment will be readily available.
Food trucks and music will be on site, so plan to make it a day in the outdoors at the Expo.

Volunteer Opportunity for Outdoor Expo
Side Cut Metropark
May 18, 2024: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 1 to 4 p.m. or 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Youth Fishing Event
Whether you are an experienced angler, or trying fishing for the first time, we invite you to reel in Metroparks memories at this youth fishing event.
Cannonball prairie pond will be open for youth fishing (under age 18) during this time. Youth ages 16 & 17 will need to have an Ohio Fishing License. You are welcome to bring your own equipment, but we will also have fishing poles and bait available on a first come, first served basis.
Help protect the balance of this ecosystem by taking all of your live bait home and dumping nothing into the water or onto land!
This event runs rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. No flip-flops.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
Meet at Cannonball Prairie Metropark.
No registration. Free.

Disabled and Proud Fest, Outdoor Expo
Metroparks is partnering with the City of Toledo to showcase and celebrate inclusion in your community! This free event invites people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to spend a day at Swan Creek Preserve Metropark enjoying adaptable activities such as wheelchair basketball, tree climbing, archery, kid’s activities and more! Take a ride on the Explorer Trolley, Action Track Chair, GRIT Freedom Chair, or shred on an adaptive bike.
11:00 AM, Disability March, ½ mile
11:30 AM, Basketball tournament begins
12:00-4:00 PM, Metroparks activities, vendor area, and food trucks open
The Expo will feature a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for adults. Anyone with or without a disability can come together and compete for a championship title! Sports wheelchairs will be provided courtesy of Adaptive Sports Ohio.
A double elimination tournament will be held onsite. We’re looking for 14 adult teams to register. We encourage everyone to give wheelchair basketball a try.
Register your team of 3-5 people by June 23rd at: toledo.oh.gov/disability-pride in order to be eligible to participate in the wheelchair basketball tournament. Participants will receive a voucher for their preferred food truck, water, and an event T-shirt.
Metroparks programmers will be on-site to showcase the equipment and guide you as you discover your next outdoor passion – regardless of ability. A low sensory zone will be available at the Yager Center.
